A blank canvas can be exciting, daunting, inspiring or all of the above. When Dimension Studios chose to take up their own space in the heart of Sydney’s flourishing creative precinct, an expansive warehouse space was the perfect fit. But without the right fit out, the team of talented image makers’ work would be hampered rather than enhanced.
The challenge at hand was to take advantage of permanent features, the high ceilings, the steel structure, while providing specialty spaces – makeup and change rooms, photography studios and talent waiting areas. With everything from set piece to product photography, fashion and image production, the design needed to provide a functional blank canvas as well as inspiring and character driven creative incubators.
Embracing the features of the industrial setting, polished concrete and exposed steel girders contrasted the studios’ timber flooring, natural light and filigree wallpaper. The reception area makes an immediate impact, signposting the creative stimuli within with illuminated wall panels mirroring complementary brand cues. Picture perfect.
