relocated, redesigned, revitalised
When the time comes to move offices there’s an air of expectation hovering over the new design and of course, it’s a time to think about opportunities to improve the work environment – both in terms of aesthetic and functionality. With a brief that focused on the desire for a more contemporary look and feel as well as vibrancy, colour and space, we focused on revitalising the way people worked at BDJ Partners.
Layout-wise, there was an opportunity to increase functional space by reducing the size of the reception area. This allowed for easier access and better traffic flow when compared to disproportionately “front-heavy” layouts. Fewer doors, closing off offices, more natural sunlight available to those at workstations topped off with lush greenery added life and colour. Colour introduced by a feature wall, highlights and the subtle integration of corporate hues.
As you might expect, details mean everything in a fit out at BDJ’s core business. From selection of timber, finishes and joinery to materials across the offices, kitchen and meeting rooms, no opportunities to stamp quality on the design was overlooked.
